SUSTAINABILITY OF REAL FUR

‘Fur is a natural, sustainable, renewable resource. We only use part of what nature produces each year without depleting wildlife populations or damaging natural habitats that sustain them. The goal is to maintain long-term ecological balance.’

Fur is an excellent alternative to products made from synthetic materials. Genuine fur is natural, renewable, biodegradable and sustainable. The negative environmental impact caused by faux fur and synthetic fibres in general is far greater than that of real fur.

Synthetic Fibres are Made from Petrochemicals

Faux fur and most synthetics are made from petrochemicals. They can take more than 3 times as much non-renewable energy to produce as real fur. Like other plastics, these materials do not break down easily and will remain in landfills for centuries. At a time when the true ecological cost of “cheap”, mass-produced, disposable “fast-fashion” is just beginning to be calculated – think millions of tons of poor-quality fibres and short-life garments filling up landfills – the naturally durable and recyclable qualities of fur make more sense than ever!

Melissa has been the proprietor of a successful Beauty Therapy business for the past 25 years.  She always wanted to be involved in the fashion industry that she has a passion for.  During her travels overseas she visited many Boutiques with products not yet available here.  She felt that she could make a contribution to women’s fashion in Australia with bags of her own design with a certain sense of style.

The materials Over the moon use are environmentally sustainable which are a contribution to women’s fashion.
